I am the guy that doesn't care what place you
get in an event. I am the guy that is never in the front of the race.
I am the guy, in the back (or middle if I am lucky) of the pack, encouraging
the rest of us mortals to keep going until we finish. Let the pros
and uber athletes fight for a shiny piece of metal, I will run beside
you, encourage you, and cheer for you when we ALL cross the finish
line.
To steal from Theodore Roosevelt:

the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the
doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to
the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust
