Me - the everyman athlete

I am the guy that doesn't care what place you get in an event. I am the guy that is never in the front of the race. I am the guy, in the back (or middle if I am lucky) of the pack, encouraging the rest of us mortals to keep going until we finish. Let the pros and uber athletes fight for a shiny piece of metal, I will run beside you, encourage you, and cheer for you when we ALL cross the finish line.

To steal from Theodore Roosevelt:

" It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better.
